Helvetica Review

After watching Helvetica, I feel like I treated text as a toy rather than the powerful tool that it apparently is.  The various ways different fonts and styles can reach out to people in different ways is astounding.  One woman made me speechless when she stated that helvetica caused the vietnam and iraq wars.  I am not sure if fonts have that much power, but they can definitely be used effectively to better communicate an idea.

Now that I've watched this film, I see font as a powerful ally for upcoming posters and projects.  I see vibrant and dynamic fonts, subtle and gentle fonts, and I refuse to use wingdings.  If I ever decide to drop out of art school and pursue a dream of world domination, you better believe I'll use words with a bitching font.
